“Vivo and ‘X’: Those who keep an eye on the smartphone market are well aware of the significance of the letter ‘X’ after the name Vivo in English. The Vivo X series phones always make a mark in the market, from design to processor to camera capabilities. The anticipation that began a month ago has now come to an end with the launch of the Vivo X100 series in a grand manner in China. This lineup introduces two models – Standard and Pro. As expected, Vivo has once again impressed with attractive designs and robust features in both the Vivo X100 and Vivo X100 Pro. Let’s delve into the details of the two phones, including their prices.
Vivo X100 and Vivo X100 Pro: Specifications and Features
Both the Vivo X100 and Vivo X100 Pro feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1.5K, a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and 3,000 nits peak brightness. The screen also houses an embedded fingerprint scanner. The Vivo X100 series boasts IP68-certified dust and water-resistant chassis.
For photography enthusiasts, both the Vivo X100 and Vivo X100 Pro come equipped with a triple rear camera setup. It includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 64-megapixel (50-megapixel in the Pro model) telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom. The Super Telephoto camera features a ZEISS-certified Varifocal-Apochromatic-Sonnar lens.
On the front, both smartphones boast a 32-megapixel selfie camera. To enhance photography capabilities, Vivo has incorporated its V3 imaging chipset, capable of advanced photography and 4K video recording. The Vivo X100 and X100 Pro are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 processor, coupled with 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4 storage.
In terms of power backup, both the Standard and Pro models support 120W and 100W wired fast charging, along with 5,000mAh and 5,400mAh batteries, respectively. Additionally, the Vivo X100 Pro supports 50W wireless charging. On the software front, the Vivo X100 series runs on OriginOS 4, based on Android 14.
Price and Availability of Vivo X100, X100 Pro
In China, the Vivo X100 with 12GB RAM + 256GB storage is priced at 3,999 yuan (approximately 45,420 INR), and the 16GB RAM + 256GB storage variant is priced at 4,299 yuan (approximately 49,100 INR). The models with 16GB RAM + 512GB storage and 16GB RAM + 1TB storage are priced at 4,599 yuan (approximately 52,500 INR) and 4,999 yuan (approximately 57,065 INR), respectively.
On the other hand, the Vivo X100 Pro with the same configurations is priced at 4,999 yuan (approximately 58,070 INR), 5,299 yuan (approximately 61,555 INR), 5,499 yuan (approximately 62,780 INR), and 5,999 yuan (approximately 68,500 INR). Both handsets are available in Star Trail Blue, Sunset Arrange, White Moonlight, and Chain Black colors. The launch date for these phones in India has not been announced by Vivo yet.”
